Julia Kai Fink

Julia Kai Fink is an eighteen-year-old music journalist and creative A&R representative based in Los Angeles, California. She began playing guitar and singing at a young age; over the years, she has played an excess of 100 live shows at venues all over Los Angeles, including the Whisky A Go-Go, the Troubadour, the Roxy, the Independent Theater, the Mint, the Joint, and the Viper Room. She has played at several Los Angeles Chargers games at the Dignity Health Sports Park (formerly known as the StubHub Center), the LA Kings Fan Fest, and NAMM. She has performed on KXLU 88.9 FM Radio on the DemoListen show with Fred Kiko, as well as performing on live television with Richie Sambora and Orianthi. She has performed at several festivals, movie screenings, and charity events, including the Brentwood Arts Festival, Wake Up With the Waves (in Santa Monica), the Venice Art Walk, the Abbot Kinney Festival and the Playa Vista Runway. In 2019, she published a single entitled "All This Time" in collaboration with SOKYO, which can be found on Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple Music, Google Play, and various other streaming platforms. She is currently working on collaborations with Brazilian alternative band Vieira and various electronic music producers, as well as recording her debut EP. She has experience with social media management and has also been commissioned to create album art for a number of artists.
Julia’s experience as an artist and performer informs her journalistic work, highlighting her credibility and in-depth understanding of soundscapes. Writing under the pen name Julia Kai, Julia is the Managing Editor for Intersect Magazine, an up-and-coming online music publication. There, she writes music business, music review, editorial, and interview articles, as well as general music news updates. She runs the publication’s Instagram page, as well as handling all press inquiries and feature requests. Julia also does independent A&R work for the music synchronization and licensing company Accidental Entertainment Inc., curating “Release Radar” playlists of new music for each month and discussing her findings with the company’s A&R team. Outside of the music industry, Julia is a staff writer on the research team for the Refugee Empowerment Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that refugees receive equal access to opportunities and resources.
